About Bay of Plenty Tree Society

The Bay of Plenty Tree Society started in 1965 and since then they have transformed the gorse and scrub covered hillsides of McLaren Falls Park into a magnificent park environment. Thanks to all the work they have done McLaren Falls Park is now home to one of the best botanical collections of trees in the North Island and the park features some rare and unusual trees. It is also one of the best places to see autumn colour in the Tauranga area. Members of the Bay of Plenty Tree Society meet every Monday to work in the park. The Tree Society only costs $10 a year to join and they are always on the lookout for new members.
